I think it’s one of those things that will probably work itself out based on performance. I think Peraza is a better defender so he’ll likely end up a short with Volpe at 2nd. Maybe they let Torres walk when he is a free agent after the 2024 season

I’m a Schmidt fan regardless of role. I think he is likely rotation depth to start the year and used out of the pen, but he could get his shot at some point. Might not end up getting tons of saves/holds though because they will use as their long man, multi inning guy. If you have the space to hold him, he’s a hold, but I get making a tough cut on him
