A major influx of high impact offensive talent just recently hit the big leagues (Yoan Moncada, Rafael Devers, Lewis Brinson, Derek Fisher, Harrison Bader, Jordan Luplow, and Dominic Smith coming soon too), and Ralph and I went over each one of them and projected their rest-of-season numbers by playing over/under their Steamer projections. It’s a waiver wire frenzy in a few of my leagues right now! Trade deadline in full effect. Gotta love it. I’ve been taking a closer look at Alford’s stats and wondering why no one is talking about this dude (except team Halp of course). How does he compare to Robles or Acuna for you in the long-term? The walk and strike out rate he’s showing right now seems like that of a top 10 prospect.
Also, is he a long term CF in your opinion or does he slot into one of the corners? Thanks
Yea, love Alford and great to see him not missing a beat coming off the injury. Robles and Acuna are younger and doing similar things, so I have them over Alford, but Alford has the potential to be an elite power/speed combo with a good average.
And defensively he would probably be best in a corner.
